April’s New look PlayStation store to unveil Home service?

Published by GiantHaystax under News, Playstation 3

playstationhome.jpgRumours are abound on the interweb that Sony may be preparing to launch PlayStation home as part of the recently announced new look PlayStation store. In the update put out by the company they stated “Content will be suspended for two weeks while the improvements are carried out but users can look forward to a special update in mid-April.”. A Warhawk expansion pack is also said to include PlayStation Home features but no way to access them. Further to this an article in the Official US PlayStation Magazine features an interview with Susan Panico, Senior Director of PlayStation Network, which includes the comment ”we’ll be opening up the Home Beta to the public very soon and hope to see u there”. Will PlayStation Home be unveiled as part of the new look store? What do you think readers?

Published by GiantHaystax under DS, PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Codemasters have unveiled a new trailer showing off their latest title, Race Driver: GRID. The word on the street/interweb is that this IS in-game footage! (although obviously not the DS version).

(Apologies if you’ve already seen this article from a few days ago, I had to take it down due to some technical issues, but now it’s back!)

New GTA IV trailer coming next week

Published by GiantHaystax under News, Playstation 3, Xbox 360

gta4logo.jpgRockstar games have announced the final trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV is set to be released. Entitled “Good lord what are you doing?” A.K.A “everyone’s a rat”, the trailer will hit the interweb on Thursday the 27th of March. Xbox Live and Playstation network will most likely receive the trailer the following day. The Official Grand Theft Auto IV website has also been updated with a batch of new screen shots and details of 2 more radio stations set to be included in the game. “K109 The Studio” is the first of the 2 with a tag line of “Disco never dies, Hosted by DJ Karl”. The second is called “WKTT Talk Radio”, “We know the Truth! The nations most patriotic talk radio”. GTA IV is due for worldwide release on 29/04/08. Play.com Live: Giant StayPuft Marshmallow man to take centre stage

Published by GiantHaystax under Play.com live 08

MCV reports that the Vivendi booth will feature a giant StayPuft Marshmallow man. Head of games at Play.com Gian Luzio said  ”We’re ecstatic to have the giant Stay Puft marshmallow man at Play.com Live - it will be a real centrepiece. The rest of Sierra’s line-up for the event shows just how strong a roster it has for 2008.”. Ghostbusters will be one of the must see games of the show for me, possibly the highlight. It’s surprising that their hasn’t been much press attention paid to the Ghostbusters game being at the show. Especially considering how much of a storm there was on the interweb when Vivendi announced back in November they had secured the rights to produce a new game based on the franchise. Either people don’t realise it’s going to be there, or it’s only us “oldies” (26) that are interested.

SEGA NO LONGER OWNS DREAMCAST.COM!!!!!

Published by GiantHaystax under News

dreamcast-scam.jpg 2AM. Late breaking news on the interweb tonight  is that the much linked to over recent days, Dreamcast.com is in fact no longer a Sega owned domain! This looks to be one of the biggest errors in gaming history. Many, many popular websites having covered the story regarding a new dreamcast questionnaire which appeared on the site in recent days (including ourselves). The appearance of the questionnaire had prompted much discussion and speculation on numerous internet message boards.  Kotaku , a site which gets significant amounts of visitors specifically encouraged people to fill in their details on the site when they said “All I know is this thing they’re doing now needs a massive response, to both show our love for the noisy little console and show Sega that we’re ready for whatever Dreamcast lovin’ they’re willing to toss our way.” The site looks to have fooled practically everyone. Strong rumours of Xbox 360 price cut on March 14th

Published by GiantHaystax under News, Xbox 360

money.jpgStrong rumours began today of a Xbox 360 price cut coming into effect on March 14th across Europe. Tech Radar appear to have broken the news first citing “well-placed industry sources”. The news quickly spread and appears legitimate. If the information is correct of a price cut of around £40, then I predict a Arcade model price of £149.99, the premium at £199.99 and the Elite to be £249.99. It should be pointed out this is pure speculation on my part based on the information leaking out around the interweb about the cut. The move is probably timed to tie in with the release of GTA IV, where Microsoft will be hoping that people who have yet to make the move up to the current generation of consoles will choose the 360 over the PS3 as the console to go with in order to be able to play the game. Click below to read more….
