• Here’s a round up of the weeks biggest news stories in brief that we were unable to cover this week due to commitments.

    • Activision have hinted that the next installment of Guitar hero will feature new instruments. Probably means a microphone and drum kit bringing it in line with rock Band.
    • Sony have pushed back the public beta of PlayStation home to the Autumn although have said more slots will be opened up for people to have the chance to take part in the closed beta which has been running for some time.
    • Konami have pushed back the start of the Metal Gear Solid online beta test due to massive demand. The test will now start on April 25th and run until 11th of May.
    • Silent Hill 5 has been announced with a release date of September. called Silent Hill: Homecoming, this will be the series first outing on the new generation of consoles so should come complete with a big graphical overhaul over previous versions.
    • Nintendo have announced the WiiWare downloadable games ervice will launch in Europe on MAy 20th with games priced from 500 points. In keeping with Nintendo tradition, Europe gets the service last with it being already launched in Japan and launching in the USA on the 12th of May.
    • GTA IV has reached the stock rooms of the high street shops and online warehouse. Predictably this means the game has already been “borrowed”, copied and leaked online for all modified 360 owners to download and play illegally. Avoid YouTube and games forums until release day if you don’t want to ruin your GTA experience with gameplay footage videos and story spoilers. ButonBandits will not be covering unofficial GTA news and video so don’t worry you can still visit here!

    Normal service now resumed.
