Play.com Live: EA booth Summary & Gallery
The main attraction from EA was Rockband. It wasn’t featured in the main EA booth area but instead given it’s own specific areas in both the Microsoft and Sony areas. The Microsoft Rockband stand being far more impressive than the Playstation area for it presentation wise. Rockband was incredibly popular with a long waiting list to take part in the competition and have a go. Helpers were on hand to fill in missing band places which was mostly the singing role as no-one wanted to embarrass themselves too badly in front of so many people. Unfortunately for ButtonBandits.com we did manage to make a fool of ourselves on-stage, lasting no longer than 45 seconds and getting booed off. To be fair it’s a lot more difficult than guitar hero is and so it would have been better if you had been allowed a little practice before. This would have caused a longer waiting list hough so wasn’t really practical. Frosty took charge of the drums and couldn’t get the hang of it at all. The people doing well must have got it on PS3 import and have already got good at it as I can’t see how they could play it for the first time and instantly get the hang of it. ButtonBandits obtained the European region specific track listing. Click continue reading to read more
A full PAL version track listing was found left lying around on a table near to the PS3 Rockband areas. This included previously unannounced PAL exclusive tracks from Blur, Oasis, and Muse. Check out the full story here. Release date was given as possibly May - June but not confirmed. Elsewhere in the EA booth there was a bizarre situation on the Sunday where word seemed to have go out the the EA goody bag contained some really good items such as free games. A large queue then formed to wait for a bag containing a Fifa Street 3 baseball cap and some leaflets. Meanwhile there was no queue at all on the other side of the main stage where the free dvd’s were being handed out from Play.com! There was a guy doing lots of football tricks around the Fifa Street 3 area which drew in the crowds. EA also featured a number of already released games such as Army Of Two, Fifa Street 3 and Burnout Paradise amongst others. All of these proved popular.
