Frosty was set the challenge of having his photo taken with every boothbabe on the show floor. This had to include Gemma Atkinson and Play.com staff handing out goodie bags and the like. I counted 11 groups of babes that were entered into the competition after a scan of the show floor. Those that would clearly have been impossible to get were not counted such as bands who didn’t come out onto the show floor.
Heres the results:

Over at the EA Rock band booth at Play.com Live, EA (or Microsoft) staff had a full PAL version track list with them. I didn’t see anyone giving these out or making this information available to people while I was there but ButtonBandits.com managed to obtain the track listing anyway as one was found left lying around on a table near to the upstairs Rockband area during the break between the morning and afternoon sessions, so a note was quickly made. The actual wording on the track list was “PAL Exclusive tracks”. Presumably it means EU tracks and not just PAL regions The exclusive tracks are to be:
- Blur “Beattlebum” (English)
- Oasis “Rock ‘n’ roll star” (English)
- Tokyo Hotel “Through the Monsoon” (English)
- Muse “Hysteria” (English)
- Les Wamaps “Manu Chao” (French)
- Indochine “L’Aventurier” (French)
- Playmo “New Wave” (French)
- Die Toten Hosen “Hier Kommt Alex” (German)
- Juli “Perfekte Welle” (German)
- H-Block X “Countdown to Insanity” (German

The main attraction from EA was Rockband. It wasn’t featured in the main EA booth area but instead given it’s own specific areas in both the Microsoft and Sony areas. The Microsoft Rockband stand being far more impressive than the Playstation area for it presentation wise. Rockband was incredibly popular with a long waiting list to take part in the competition and have a go. Helpers were on hand to fill in missing band places which was mostly the singing role as no-one wanted to embarrass themselves too badly in front of so many people. Unfortunately for ButtonBandits.com we did manage to make a fool of ourselves on-stage, lasting no longer than 45 seconds and getting booed off. To be fair it’s a lot more difficult than guitar hero is and so it would have been better if you had been allowed a little practice before. This would have caused a longer waiting list hough so wasn’t really practical. Frosty took charge of the drums and couldn’t get the hang of it at all. The people doing well must have got it on PS3 import and have already got good at it as I can’t see how they could play it for the first time and instantly get the hang of it. ButtonBandits obtained the European region specific track listing. Click continue reading to read more

Sony had a small area dedicated to showing of the Blue Ray format. Wonder if HD-DVD was originally booked to attend also? The movies looked pretty special on the 1080p screens. Anyway… heres the blue ray booth.

Lego Indiana Jones was the highlight of the Activision Booth. You can read our hands on with the game here. Other games featured were Kung Fu Panda, Guitar Hero 3 and Call Of Duty 4. There was a competition in the Guitar Hero 3 section to win £5000 of play.com vouchers. TheHairyMartian entered and claimed he got a really high score but Sadly did not win the prize. Considering Call of Duty 4 has been out for quite a while the COD4 area still generated a large amount of interest. Unfortunately Star Wars Force unleashed was a no show. This didn’t stop Darth Vader putting in an appearance though who did his best to promote his up and coming game having brought a giant poster along with him. Darth seems to have cheered up quite a lot lately as he happily stood by his poster for two full days posing for photographs with show goers. He was frequently seen trying to chat up the girl who had jumped out of the Soul Caliber 4 universe for the weekend. Kung Fu Panda still played it safe and kept well away from Darth just in case. The bad news for Panda was that he had to be escorted everywhere by an Activison Panda keeper. ButtonBandits.com obtained an exclusive video interview with both Kung Fu Panda and his keeper. Looks out for it on the site coming soon. The big news of the day at the Activision booth on Sunday was Panda being spotted running amok with no sign of his keeper! Sadly we couldn’t get hold of an Activision rep to find out what had happened to him. If we receive any tips on the Keepers latest whereabouts we will be sure to you know.

Lego Indiana Jones was unveiled to the public in fully playable form for the first time at play.com live. The dedicated booth for the game contained 4 demo pods all able to be played in two player co-op, although single player was available should you so choose. Me and Frosty waited no longer than 5 minutes to get on a demo pod to play a good 15 minutes of co-op play. The level on offer was the one you may have seen recently in a gameplay footage video online. The core gameplay is much the same as the Lego Star Wars games but seems to focus more on little puzzles to solve rather than just simply using the right character for the right job. E.g. you come to a set of bridge posts but there is no bridge, so you then search around in the area nearby to find some Lego to pick up and roll out to complete it. Later on in the level spears pop up out the ground which initially appear to just be a hazard, but you then figure out they can be picked up and thrown at the object blocking your way in order to clear the path and progress. The right character for the job still plays a part though such as in one area where you quickly realise each player needs to take a different route across the level to progress. Indy taking the top route using the whip to hook onto objects and swing across areas, with his sidekick on the lower area swinging across bars and vines available to hold onto. The graphical detail has been upped compared to the Star Wars games with much more texturing of the environment to pull off the rocky jungle look compared to the shiny plain surface look found in the star wars games. Just a quick update before we head off for the long weekend. We have made a deal with Body In The Box Productions to produce our video content from the weekend, so it should all look top quality! That’s it from us until Monday. I hope everyone going has a good time and be sure to check back here on Monday as our coverage starts to come together. There’s still some heated debate on if we will do an audio podcast or not but the video content is definitely on thanks to the support from Body In the Box.
