The highlight of this weeks unusually dreary episode of Games|Night on Xleague.tv came in part three of the show. The University professor guy that occasionally makes an appearence guest hosted in place of the absent “TV’s own” Paul Vale. During the show a competition was being held for viewers where one of the tasks was to spot the “visual cliche” that occurred in part three. The cliche was of course a mickey take out of Dave Jenkins (TeleText GameCentral) dress sense of always wearing short black trousers combined with high white socks. EuroGamer.net’s Ellie Gibson wins the prize for the best impersonation with a particularly good attempt. With the previous episodes embarrassing Rock Band performance, could a trend of injecting in-jokes into each episode be starting? Keep all eyes peeled on the next bi-weekly episode to try and spot more subtle hilarity.
For your viewing pleasure last weeks rockband performance can be found below featuring Steve Boxer (Guardian), Adam Doree (KIKIZO), Ellie Gibson (Eurogamer) and Sophie Blakemore. Ellie is the one at the back looking thrilled to be taking part.

Infinite Puchi Puchi is a new game being released on the Japanese WiiWare download service. It’s highly original and based on popping bubble wrap, although somehow I don’t think it will be quite as satisfying bursting it virtually as it is in real life. Thankfully you can still do the old screwing it up trick to burst loads of them at once.

Another month, another Shenmue rumour. Following on from the rumours picked up on about Shenmue 1 and 2 coming to the Wii, the Shenmue rumour mill has not died down. A few days ago SEGA announced they had obtained the rights to use Unreal Engine III for an unannounced game. Speculation is rife that the engine is to be used to make a next gen version of Shenmue 3. Internet rumour experts (i.e forum posters) speculate further that the game will be unveiled at this years E3.
VideoGaming 247 asked SEGA for comment on the whole issue and received a response of “No comment”. Interestingly a post on the EuroGamer forums back in February speculated that something had changed at SEGA as rather than giving a no comment reply to a Shenmue Facebook group, SEGA suddenly started sending out a different response, all of which had the same general tone. One of these reads:
“Hello,
Thanks for writing — it seems like Shenmue’s fans are always the most passionate and committed of everyone who writes in! We are well aware of the following these games have. I realize it is frustrating but for now all I can say is: be patient! And keep checking in to www.sega.com for news ….
-Edward
SEGA Support”
The authenticity of the information is obviously not confirmed but was this a hint back in February by SEGA that something Shenmue related is on the way? Probably not, but what could happen is that SEGA see all the speculation around this most likely non existent game and actually decide to make it. Alternatively we will all still be here in a years time jumping on any scrap of news with the slightest suggestion that a new Shenmue game may be in the works.

Once upon a time Sony got together with Nintendo to produce a CDROM add on for the SNES. In the end Nintendo sided with Philips for the project and Sony went off to create it’s own console called the PlayStation. The rest as they say is history. But what became of the Nintendo/Philips deal?
With the SNES CD drive never getting a release, Philips did the same as Sony and created their own console, the Philips CD-I. However, Philips still had a deal with Nintendo to be able to produce CD games featuring Nintendo’s most cherished characters, and so Hotel Mario was born. Released on the CD-i in 1993 and since deemed the worst Mario game of all time by ScrewAttack, relive this classic moment in gaming history below:
Couldn’t miss out on posting this one. SlobsOfGaming.com has posted an article called “The 11 Most Scorching-Hot Female Cosplayers Ever”. I agree with the first one but not too sure about the rest. Sadly this amount of flesh was not on show at Play.com Live back in March, when Frosty had to complete his Boothbabe challenge. Many of them were still very pleasing on the eye though,

Someone by the name of sturko has created a trance track out of a modded Super Mario level. Looks like it would have taken quite a long time to put together:
