• Here is a summary of the key things coming out of the Sony E3 2008 press conference:

    • A very impressive demo of Resistance 2 single player campaign was shown. Look out for the footage showing up online soon
    • The boring graphs section that Nintendo loves so much was entirely presented using a level constructed in Little Big Planet. Most people spent more time looking at the game rather than listening to what Jack Tretton was actually saying. A must buy for any PS3 owner this Christmas.
    • $29.99 greatest hits selection of budget releases coming to the US.
    • Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty announced as a smaller scale downloadable game coming very soon priced at $14.99 in the US.
    • Gran Turismo TV to launch on 1st of August and will screen Top New Gear episodes amongst other things.
    • New download video store launching tonight. Allows you to both buy and rent movies from PlayStation Network. Can also be transferred to PSP for portable viewing at no extra cost. Presumably this is a US only service, although no specific regional details were given. Expect this to be confirmed soon. We just need to wait for news on if the US movie store works fine in the UK like it does for all other download content.
    • New PlayStation Network games coming soon. Fat Princess, Crash Commando, Pain: Amusement Park & Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic.
    • Resistance Retribution announced for PSP. Coming Spring 2009.
    • Super Stardust Portable coming to PSP. No release date provided
    • 80Gb PS3 to become the standard in the US. 40gb model to be dropped. Again no news on how this affects the rest of the world.
    • God of War III confirmed for PS3. CGI concept trailer shown.
    • Infamous to release in Spring 2009.
    • “Massive Action Game” announced allowing 256 player online battles with players split into squads of eight. CGI concept trailer was shown.
