Sony Europe’s David Reeves today announced that the PlayStation 3 has now outsold the Xbox 360 in Europe despite being released 16 months after the rival console. He went on to say that PlayStation 3 has been outselling the Xbox 360 since October 2007 and has now sold over 5 million units in the territory. David went onto say “We are particularly proud of this as it has been achieved in a similar time frame as PlayStation 2 which retailed, if you remember, at a significantly lower price,”. “customers are buying into PS3 as the ultimate gaming system”. It is believed in the UK the Xbox 360 still has the lead although the PlayStation 3 is catching up fast. All of this is good news for gamers as each company tries go one better than the competition with price cuts and better quality services in an attempt to compete.
