Play.com Live: 6 days to go

Published by GiantHaystax at 2:52 am under Play.com live 08

wembley.jpgShow’s getting closer! I’ve had a few queries from people on how we are going to be able to cover the event when Play’s website states that no recording devices are to be taken into the event. Well I was wondering that too as sadly the press contact listed on play’s website has not responded to any of my emails. TheAverageGamer also reports that they too have not heard a thing since contacting them a number of weeks ago. I had no choice other than to call the ticket line instead. They advised that small still cameras are not a problem and the reference is more to “big film crews” not being allowed and “that kind of thing”. Based on this I think we should be fine be fine taking a still camera and small Dictaphone in to record a podcast. I’ve read on some other blog style sites that they have had confirmation by email that it’s fine to take this kind of device into the show. So fingers crossed we won’t run into any problems when we get there! Presumably the company managing the press side of the event have been overwhelmed and so must be concentrating there efforts on the bigger players.

Update: Play’s press office have now been in touch! (11/03/08)
